TRAPPED IN WIDE-OPEN SPACES

Cleithrophobia

What if the fear of being trapped wasn’t just about small spaces?

For those living with cleithrophobia, even wide-open places can feel suffocating. The racing thoughts, the tightness in your chest, the desperate need to escape this fear can shape every part of your life.

In Trapped in Wide-Open Spaces, Amy Creery shares a compassionate and eye-opening guide to understanding and managing cleithrophobia and panic-related anxiety. Drawing from her own lived experience, she offers practical tools, gentle encouragement, and insight to help you move forward even when fear still lingers.

Inside, you’ll learn how to:

  • Understand cleithrophobia and how it shows up in everyday life
  • Identify personal triggers and root causes that make you feel trapped
  • Use grounding, mindfulness, and coping tools for panic and anxiety
  • Create action plans and set healthy boundaries that put you back in control
  • Build resilience, self-compassion, and confidence at your own pace
  • Live fully, even with fear

If you’ve ever felt misunderstood, isolated, or limited by your fear, this book reminds you that you are not broken and you are not alone. With honesty, hope, and practical strategies, Amy Creery shows that freedom doesn’t come from eliminating fear entirely; it comes from learning how to live well alongside it.

Freedom is possible, even in the middle of fear.

What a precious, clever book for children (and parents, too!!). Read along and enjoy with Sheerluck and Swatson as they solve the mystery. Hoping this becomes a series!!!!

This book is written very well and describes a mental illness that many may have. In fact, I feel I may suffer from it to a certain degree, along with claustrophobia. I never realized they were different conditions.

I liked this topic. I was glad to read of the focus on God and His help with our loss of peace. Filled with good ideas and suggestions for staying positive and seeking the help of others to help us regain our focus on God, and find His peace.
